UniMed has announced that its CEO Louise Zacest will be stepping down at the end of March and that Lynne Hayman will become interim CEO.
UniMed Chair Peter Tynan says the organisation is grateful for Zacest’s leadership and the growth and development she has driven over the past four years.
“Under her guidance, UniMed has become New Zealand’s third largest health insurer, expanded into health & safety and mental wellbeing, and significantly strengthened its internal capabilities,” he says.
Zacest notes it’s been an incredible journey leading the organisation through a period of growth and transformation.
To ensure a smooth transition, Hayman will step in as interim CEO, until 31 October 2025, while a recruitment process for a new CEO is undertaken.
She joined UniMed late last year as Interim Chief Operating Officer, bringing experience as a senior executive across a wide variety of industries, including four years as Chief Executive of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.
UniMed (Union Medical Benefits Society) adds it’s New Zealand’s third largest health insurer with more than 140,000 members.
