Following its support for drought-affected customers in Taranaki, Fidelity Life is now extending premium relief to its customers in five other regions who have also been impacted by the recent dry weather.

The company says its customers who are facing financial hardship in Northland, Waikato, King Country, Horizons (Manawatū-Whanganui) and Marlborough-Tasman as a direct result of the drought who are eligible can apply to have their premiums temporarily waived for up to three months, with the potential to extend for up to a further three months, without affecting their insurance protection.

Fidelity Life’s Chief Commercial Officer Bronwyn Kirwan says the company empathises with the challenges faced by these drought-hit communities.

“We recognise how tough it’s been for these regions as the dry weather continues and we want to show our support in a meaningful way. Our premium relief offer is a way we’re trying to help ease the burden and be there for our customers…”

She says the company hopes this support provides customers “…with some reassurance that their insurance protection will remain in place while they navigate the challenges brought by the drought.”
