Chubb Life Insurance New Zealand has announced Danielle Bernacchi as the recipient of its 2025 Actuarial Scholarship.

The insurer says that for the past decade, the Chubb Life Actuarial Scholarship has been supporting the next generation of insurance talent, providing hands-on experience at the company as well as a $5,000 prize to support their studies.

It says this year’s winner was selected for her passion for actuarial science and commitment to excellence. She is currently completing a double-major degree in Finance and Actuarial Science at Victoria University of Wellington, the only university in New Zealand that offers actuarial science.

Lee-Ann Du Toit, Chubb Life’s Chief Actuary, is delighted to award Bernacchi the scholarship as part of the company’s ongoing support of the actuarial science programme at Victoria University of Wellington.

“Being able to collaborate and convert complex insights into practical management actions is a critical skill in actuarial science and [she] exemplifies these skills.”

Du Toit says scholarship is one of the ways Chubb supports young people to learn more about what is a lesser known, but vital, role in the insurance industry.
