Fidelity Life Offers Premium Relief

Fidelity Life customers who are facing financial hardship as a direct result of the severe weather in Canterbury, Southland, and Clutha District can apply to have their premiums temporarily waived for up to three months.

The insurer says the waiver can potentially be extended for up to a further three months, without affecting eligible customers’ insurance protection.

In addition to financial relief, Fidelity Life has expanded its hardship support by offering access to Raise—a confidential counselling service. It says eligible customers can now access up to three free counselling sessions to help them navigate personal or professional challenges.

Chief Commercial Officer Bronwyn Kirwan says the company is committed to supporting customers impacted by the severe weather in these communities.

“We know the recent weather has had a devastating impact on communities across Canterbury, Southland, and the Clutha District. Our hearts go out to everyone affected.

“This premium relief offer is one way we’re trying to ease the financial pressure and stand alongside our customers during this difficult time. We hope this support gives people some peace of mind, knowing their insurance protection remains in place while they focus on recovery,” Kirwan says.

Applications must be received on or before 24 January 2026. Click here for more information for advisers.

Earlier this year Fidelity Life also offered premium relief to weather-affected customers in several different regions around New Zealand (see: Premiums Waived for Weather-Affected Customers).
