Fidelity Life is offering to temporarily waive premiums for its South Island customers affected by the recent severe weather events in Marlborough’s Wairau-Awatere Ward and the Nelson-Tasman region.

The insurer says its customers who are facing financial hardship as a direct result of the severe weather in these areas, who are eligible, can apply to have their premiums temporarily waived for up to three months.

It notes this support may be extended for up to a further three months, without affecting their insurance protection.

Fidelity Life’s Chief Commercial Officer Bronwyn Kirwan says the company stands with these communities impacted by these weather events.

“At Fidelity Life, being there for our customers means showing up when it matters most. Insurance is about peace of mind, especially when life feels uncertain. We hope this relief offer provides our customers with some breathing room, helping them keep their cover in place during these challenging times.”

To access the relief offer, Fidelity Life customers should contact their financial adviser or the company.

In May, Fidelity Life customers facing financial hardship in Selwyn, Christchurch and Banks Peninsula, as a direct result of severe weather there, could apply to have their premiums temporarily waived for up to three months (see: More Premium Relief Offered).

It also offered premium relief for drought-affected customers in Taranaki in March and then extended this relief to five other regions in April.
