Partners Life has reported that since 1 April 2018, it has paid more claims and received more new business than any other year since it was established.

The insurer stated in an adviser update that August was its biggest month for both approved claims and issued business.

It also expanded its team in the past few months, recruiting:

  • Five Underwriters
  • Two senior Underwriting Support roles
  • Two Key Account Managers
  • Five New Business Specialists
  • Three Claims Assessors

Partners Life has also announced it will be offering Konnect’s Track and Trace service from 19 November, allowing advisers to track medical information requests through the GP’s system.

In an effort to reduce requirements through the new business process, Partners Life has also confirmed it no longer requires a build examination and build blood tests for clients with a BMI under 36.

Although it stated: “It’s important to note that in instances where a premium loading is indicated for a BMI under 36, this will still be applied – we will simply rate off the disclosed BMI rather than requiring a build exam and bloods.”

It added, if the client has other risk factors, such as elevated cholesterol or blood pressure, we may still require tests.”

The insurer noted there will be further product and service enhancements released in the coming months.
