FMA Update on Conduct and Culture Review 

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand and the FMA have confirmed that all 11 banks involved in their ongoing review of conduct and culture have provided their responses to individual feedback letters.

The regulators will begin working through the responses provided by 11 banks for the next several weeks.

They said a further statement will be made following the completion of this process.

Life insurers reviewed as part of the second stage of the conduct and culture review still have until the end of June to provide their feedback and response plans to the regulators.

Suncorp New Zealand Executive Appointment 

Suncorp New Zealand has appointed Jane Brewer as Executive General Manager Technology, Data and Labs, effective end of April 2019.

Brewer will lead Suncorp’s New Zealand technology teams as they continue to support the Suncorp New Zealand business and joint ventures to meet their strategic and growth targets.

She has been part of the Suncorp New Zealand team for 13 years and has held a variety of leadership roles in the technology and claims teams, bringing more than 20 years’ experience as a technology and business leader to the role.

“I’m excited to be join the Technology and Suncorp New Zealand senior leadership teams as we work in partnership to elevate the customer experience and further digitise the New Zealand business in an evolving industry ,” said Brewer.

Brewer’s appointment follows the departure of Terry Gaze at the end of 2018.
