Cigna Releases Self-Help Social Media Guides

Helping financial advisers embrace social media, Google, and online networking to market their services and generate new business is the aim of a new set of self-help guides from Cigna NZ.

Its PDFs cover activities such as promoting your business locally with Google, how to network online, and content ideas for social media posts.

Cigna NZ says it’s focused on improving the tools it has to support the service advisers provide.

“That’s why we’re launching our Adviser Toolkit – a handy collection of digital tools which you can use to help promote your business,” says the firm.

“With over 3.6 million Kiwis on social media each day consuming information, it just makes sense that your business would be there. Facebook, the most widely used social platform in New Zealand, is where many of us go to be entertained, informed and connected.”

Among its suggestions for posting to social media sites include client testimonials and videos shot with your smartphone.

“In most cases video enjoys better engagement on social media than any other content format. If you’ve got clients who are happy to participate, a ‘well done’ recommendation video can bring that extra layer of trust to your brand,” says Cigna.

How-to articles are also popular, says the insurer “…so if you’re able to explain these to your audience in a way that is relatable to them, you will be at least one of their options when it comes time to getting new cover.”

The company also says seasonal content, thought-pieces, well-timed advice, and commentary on current events can also help build your profile and reputation.
