Former SHARE and Swiss Re executive Bronwyn Kirwan has been appointed Fidelity Life’s Chief Sales and Service Officer. She will start her new role on 9 August and will report to company CEO Melissa Cantell.

Cantell says the appointment is crucial as the company’s customer-led transformation progresses.

“Bronwyn’s deep insurance experience and technology credentials will be invaluable as our plans to diversify our channel mix and reach even more New Zealanders develop,” says Cantell.

“As well as ensuring we keep delivering an exceptional experience to advisers, partners and customers, she’ll be leading our new strategic alliance with Westpac NZ.”

Fidelity Life announced last week it is to buy Westpac NZ’s life business for $400 million, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.

Previous roles held by Kirwan include distribution and market strategy roles with Zurich International and Swiss Re in the UK, Europe and Australia. For three years until December 2011 she was CEO of financial adviser network SHARE in New Zealand. In May she left iptiQ, Swiss Re’s Sydney-based disruptive digital insurer.
