Melanie Purdey, who resigned her position as Head of Aligned Advice at AIA NZ in June, has joined Compliance Refinery.

The firm’s MD Steven Burgess says Purdey joined his company on 5 July, and will lead its Director Support Programme which is being launched in September.

In addition, Purdey will contribute to Compliance Refinery’s marketing activities, FAP health checks and services, and FAP business mentoring along with advisory board services.

Purdey left AIA NZ after her financial adviser husband Jon became unwell. However, following an approach by Burgess she decided to join his firm.

“I was looking for an opportunity to continue to help FAPs and advisers while supporting my commitment to Jon’s recovery,” says Purdey.

“Supporting Jon’s wellbeing was the obvious choice given my alignment with AIA’s stand on health. And my own advocacy over the years for advisers’ wellbeing.”

Before joining AIA NZ Purdey was CEO of Newpark Financial Services.
