Industry Training College Under New Ownership

Industry training firm Professional IQ College has been bought by Dacreed from IBANZ for an undisclosed sum – the agreement was completed on 1 June.

Tim Larkin, Director of the college, says despite the change of hands it is business as usual for the organisation’s staff and its customers.

However, among planned changes is a new training platform that Larkin says “…will deliver a much improved user experience.”

“Among those changes will be improving our online training and content to make it more compatible with smartphones,” he says.

But before any critical changes are made, Larkin’s team plan to consult with the wider financial services industry to ensure it delivers what they require.

“Professional IQ College has been fantastic at supporting the industry and there is absolutely no intention to change that,” says Larkin.

“We won’t be making any significant changes until we have industry feedback and listen to what their requirements are. Right now we are in the discovery phase.”

The college has begun by moving new enrolments onto Dacreed’s learning and compliance platform, although existing students will remain on the college’s current platform to complete their courses.

Dacreed’s platform has more than 1,000 advisers on its learning and regulatory compliance solution.

The Auckland-based college offers Level 5 training for financial advisers, is NZQA accredited and a Category 2 Private Training Establishment.
