Professional IQ Ramps-Up Adviser Qualification Courses

0

Professional IQ College has announced a senior appointment and confirmed a number of courses it will be offering advisers seeking to ensure their industry qualification requirements are achieved in the lead-up to the March 2023 deadline.

Ahead of the end of the two-year transition period which ends on 15 March 2023, all Kiwi advisers are required to:

  • Have obtained their NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) Version 2 or a recognised equivalent
  • Be able to prove they operate at the Version 2 standard, including any specialist areas of advice
  • Be engaged by a fully licensed financial advice provider, either directly or via an authorised body
Recently-appointed PIQ College Principal, Sylvia Heywood

The college, which was acquired earlier this year by learning solutions platform, Dacreed, appointed tertiary education sector specialist, Sylvia Heywood, as its College Principal in September, and also hired another student liaison officer to increase its capacity through the last months of the adviser transition period and beyond.

In a statement, PIQ also reinforces the July 2022 launch of its new Accelerated Certificate in Financial Services (full qualification or by strand) for existing advisers with a minimum of three years industry experience who are seeking to obtain and complete their qualification (or a strand) as quickly as possible (see: New Course to Help Advisers…).

According to PIQ,  while there is a premium on the standard course it offers, the ability to complete all requirements in time and more quickly makes its accelerated certificate offer a worthwhile investment for advisers so they can get back to focussing on their clients as quickly as possible.

It adds that, with many clients about to go away on holiday, December and January are ideal times to undertake their remaining courses, which commence in mid-November and January.

The courses that are already confirmed by PIQ to assist advisers in attaining their qualifications ahead of the March 2023 deadline include:

November 2022:

  • Core Knowledge starting on 16 November

January 2023:

  • Life Disability & Health starting on Tuesday 10 January
  • Core Knowledge starting on Wednesday 11 January
  • General Insurance starting on Thursday 12 January
