New Course to Help Advisers Complete Level 5 Qualification

Just weeks after Professional IQ College was acquired by Dacreed, the firm has introduced new courses to help transitional licence holders who have yet to complete their Level 5 qualification.

Tim Larkin, Director of the college, says that since the change of ownership in June, Professional IQ staff have met with financial advisers from across the industry, and as a result has released new courses.

“Professional IQ is focusing on making its courses accessible and structured to suit the needs of advisers during the last eight months of the transitional license period,” says Larkin.

“As a result we have created accelerated courses, for the Level 5 Certificate, that are designed for experienced advisers who have busy schedules.”

In addition to the accelerated courses, Professional IQ has prepared a short course on the Financial Services Regulatory Framework to help advisers bridge any knowledge gaps between the old qualifications and new regimes.

Based completely online with multichoice questions – and including CPD hours – this allows advisers to “bridge the gap” in their own time on any device, says Larkin.

“We want to hear from our customers on what we can do to improve and what services they are after, so we can serve them with solutions,” he says.

Of New Zealand’s estimated 1,800 financial advice providers, just over one third have a full FAP Licence or have applied for one, says the FMA. The application target deadline is September 30 with small firms and sole traders running late.
