Senior FMA Appointment Confirmed

The FMA has appointed Louise Unger as its Executive Director for Response and Enforcement. She will be based in Auckland and is expected to take up her new role in June.

Unger joins the FMA’s executive leadership team from the Commerce Commission, where she is currently General Manager of the Credit branch, leading the team that regulates the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act.

Prior to joining the Commission, she specialised in risk and compliance at international law firm Lawyers on Demand NZ. Unger has a law degree and a commerce degree from Canterbury University.

FMA CEO Samantha Barrass says FMA had conducted an extensive search for this role, including internationally.
