There was a strong divide amongst respondents to our latest poll asking advisers whether you would consider offering episodic advice in future to clients who might prefer this approach.

As we go to press some 44% agreed they would consider offering episodic advice, however just under four in 10 (39%) indicated they would not consider this approach while a sizable 17% were not sure.

Our poll arose after Australian research found that of the 10 million Australians looking to see an adviser in 2025, half want to pay for advice as-and-when they need it.

As we noted, Olivia Beringer, Research Director at Investment Trends had said it was “…abundantly clear that episodic financial advice – tailored to fit budgets and life circumstances – is what Australians want.”

While Beringer says her firm’s data highlights a clear opportunity to inject greater flexibility into the sector, our poll result seems to suggest the case is not quite so clear-cut for New Zealand advisers.

Our poll will be open for another week and we welcome your thoughts…
