Would you support the principle of a new adviser commission structure based around the client’s sum assured, rather than premium?
- No (66%)
- Not sure (18%)
- Yes (16%)
More than half the advisers that voted in our latest poll do not support the new commission structure for insurance advisers that was proposed last week (see: New Adviser Commission…).
As we go to press, 58 per cent of voters said they do not support the proposal, while a quarter indicated they would welcome a new commission model. The remaining 17 per cent were unsure.
The main feature of the new model put forward by Bruce Cortesi and Darrin Franks, would see a shift from upfront commission paid as a percentage of the policy holder’s annual premium to a percentage of the total sum insured.
Our poll is still open for another week so be sure to vote and let us know your thoughts…
