Poll Results – Own Licence Preferred

0

Our latest poll asked if you would be applying for your own licence under the new regime for financial advice.

Applications for transitional licensing open on 4 November and the regime itself will commence in June 2020.

At the time of writing, our poll once again indicates that the majority of respondents will apply for their own licence (68%), 18 percent willl work under someone else’s FAP and 14 percent are still undecided.

We put this question on licensing to our readership back in February this year which produced similar results (see: Advisers not Daunted by the Future…).

As always, our poll results never claim to have scientific validity but it is interesting to see that advisers don’t seem to have wavered from their decision to continue offering advice under their own licence as the transitional application date draws nearer.

Be sure to visit the FMA’s tool to explore the options available to you if you are still unsure whether you want to operate as a financial advice provider or not.

Are you going to obtain your own licence? Or is working under someone else’s a more suitable path for you?

Our poll still remains open for another week. Click here if you’d like to place your vote…
