Support Programme Launched for FAP Directors

A FAP director support programme has been launched by Compliance Refinery in conjunction with governance specialists Faraday & Company.

Melanie Purdey, Compliance Refinery’s course facilitator, says directors of FAPs or authorised bodies are facing more scrutiny as part of the FMA’s FAP licensing guidelines, and beleives many directors may not fully understand their licence obligations.

In an environment with an active regulator, a gap in training, skills, and knowledge could lead to unwelcome issues arising,” she says.

Compliance Refinery’s director support programme is designed to ensure directors have the knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the full licencing regime.

Our course gives attendees the knowledge to fulfil their roles, holding the business and its people to account, and ensuring good governance is maintained,” she says.

Compliance Refinery’s CEO Steven Burgess says meeting FAP licence requirements doesn’t need to be complicated if you are a small business “…but it does need to be done”.

He says full licencing conditions also dictate ongoing training for directors, so his firm is offering a monthly online Director Bootcamp to help its course graduates stay up to speed with business strategy, conduct, and compliance of their FAP businesses.

Purdey says: My goal is to ensure every FAP director and owner I work with is well protected and understand how they can avoid regulatory scrutiny and hefty fines that could come with inattention to their legal duties.”

Compliance Refinery is holding its next online Director Bootcamp on Wednesday 13 April. It will feature a panel of FAP experts including Compliance Refinery’s Steve Burgess, Henry Lynch of Faraday & Company, and Clinton Stanger of Curated Risk. Register here.
