Worrying Poll Result has a Silver Lining

0

The result of our latest poll suggests the vast majority of advisers think the number of specialist risk advisers in New Zealand will decline.

We launched this poll on the back of a report out of Australia where more than 600 advisers left the industry last year – leaving just 1,200 specialist risk advisers to service more clients than they can accommodate.

Among the conclusions of a report produced by Adviser Ratings are that 100,000 Australian clients either ceased receiving advice or have been orphaned by their adviser.

While this result reveals a potentially concerning picture, the industry remains upbeat, with life companies conceding that while some advisers are exiting the industry, fresh young professionals are joining up.

Our poll remains open for another week and we welcome your opinion…

Based on news from Australia that there is a declining number of specialist risk advisers, do you think the same trend will be seen in New Zealand?

  • Yes (87%)
  • No (8%)
  • Not sure (5%)
