AIA Launches New Medical Advice Platform for Financial Advisers

Financial advisers who signed-up for AIA NZ’s Best Doctors service are being asked to register using the insurer’s new system – AIA MyCare – to continue using the service.

Sam Tremethick, AIA NZ’s Chief Partnership Officer, says AIA MyCare is a virtual care service linked to Best Doctors that provides advisers and their immediate family with free general advice on any medical and mental health issues.

“If you have previously registered under the Best Doctors portal, we ask that you re-register now under AIA MyCare,” says Tremethick.

“It should take less than five minutes to sign up or re-register, and will mean you can continue to receive this expert medical care and support.”

One feature of AIA MyCare is the Ask a Mental Health Clinician service where questions can be submitted confidentially, and a mental health specialist will respond within 24 hours.

Tremethick says another popular feature is its Mental Health Navigator which offers access to a network of New Zealand registered clinicians.

Video consultations can take place with a mental health nurse and a psychiatrist and/or psychologist who can review an existing diagnosis and treatment plans.

There is also the option to submit basic medical questions to a GP who will provide an answer within 24 hours.

“It is available should any of our advisers or corporate partners be unsure about a diagnosis, need assistance in selecting treatment or help with an existing condition, require mental health support, or have any general medical questions,” says Tremethic.
