According to the results of a survey carried out by AIA NZ, financial advisers are spending just 11% of their time giving advice to clients, while day-to-day admin chores account for 40% of their working week.

Almost two-thirds of those surveyed (61%) report that regulatory change has negatively impacted their health with close to half (44%) saying work-place stress has caused them sleepless nights.

“And we wonder why people aren’t enjoying what they are doing,” says the firm’s Chief Partnership Insurance Officer, Sam Tremethick. “The main reason for being an adviser is only 11% of their day.”

In this week’s poll, we are asking if regulatory change and routine admin has reduced the time you would normally spend with clients.
