Strategi Group has made significant changes over the past six months, to enable it to take an increased and changing workload in its stride, with the introduction of the new regulatory regime.

Key improvements include:

  • Completion of an extensive investment in technology
  • Switching to a new CRM solution to provide a more holistic approach to helping clients
  • Launching the compliance officer course, with three other micro-credential courses being developed for launch in 2020

Strategi reported a strong demand for its two-day compliance officer course in June (see: Advisers Show Strong Interest in FAP Compliance Officer Courses…).

Key appointments made include:

  • Strategi Group board established comprising two independent directors, David Whyte (Chair), Joy Marslin (Director), and David Greenslade as Executive Director
  • Daniel Relf appointed CEO
  • Dr Melanie Miller appointed as Head of Institute

The company is currently recruiting for a Head of Compliance.

“This is a brand-new role,” Strategi stated in an update. “We are looking for a person with a specific skill set so this role may take a number of months to fill and we will make an announcement once the right person has been appointed.”

It noted that Greenslade is heavily involved in the FMCA FAP licensing and compliance side of the business.

“You will have lots more contact with David moving forward than what you might have had in the past,” Strategi stated, also noting: “You will hear more from Melanie in the coming weeks.”

The team at Strategi Group currently comprises 24 employees and contractors and as it continues to recruit, the company estimates its staff levels will reach 30 by end of Q1 2020.

Strategi confirmed it will have a new and improved website and a range of other tools available in the coming months.
