Nib has launched a new online claims information service, providing advisers with real-time information about their clients’ new and active pre-approvals and claims.
Initially, nib member claims for the last 12 months will be available, with new claims added as they’re received, says the firm.
For advisers who want offline access to their clients’ policy and claims data, or want to incorporate it into their client records, the new system offers an ‘export data’ option.
The firm says its new service will help advisers recommend health insurance to prospective clients, and that the claims information can enhance their client service and acquisition activities.
The service has two components:
- Details of nib clients’ pre-approvals and claims, accessed through nib adviser
- A daily email to alert to advisers when new pre-approvals and claims are submitted by their clients or when the status of an existing pre-approval or claim changes
The firm says advisers could use claim notifications as a prompt to contact their clients to see what other benefits they might be entitled to under their nib policy, this could include counselling or treatment-related travel cost reimbursement.
In addition, says nib, advisers could help clients claim on other insurance policies they may have, such as income protection.
